Not all audiences are equal. Audiences like different things. That is why Linkvertise gives you the chance to decide on your audience’s monetization preferences when creating a link.
For some audiences, a great and smooth user experience might be more efficient than to others who are willing to absorb a more revenue-oriented approach. You should know your target-audience.
In this article, we will help you understand the settings and how you can benefit from them!
Don’t worry, your decision can change
You can edit your preferences for each individual link or for all of them at once in your dashboard - whenever you like.
Especially when you do not know your audience that well, it can be beneficial to play around with the settings we offer for the best mix of income and user experience.
What are monetization preferences?
It is up to you to decide on your audience’s experience when clicking your link to get to the desired content. You can choose between several approaches and nuances balancing your audience’s experience and your income.
Content plays an important role
How desirable is your content? Especially, high-qualitative and exclusive content may lead to your audience willing to sacrifice some user experience in order to get it. If that’s the case, we recommend going with a revenue-oriented approach.
Here are our monetization preferences
Best Revenue Potential
You want to go all out there and shoot for the highest income? Then this setting is made for you like a good old Bryan Adams song at a wedding party at 2 am: Electric, powerful and nobody wants it to end.
This highly revenue-oriented approach boosts your RPM and revenue, while affecting the user experience. But for the right audience, this approach will get you the highest income, potentially boosted by more Premium clicks.
To put it into more poetic words:
Yeah, I'd always want to be there,
Those were the best days of my life!
Good Revenue Potential
Not feeling like shooting for the stars? Not a big deal. Maybe you are unsure to what extend your audience appreciates revenue-orientated approaches. If this is the case, but you still want to try to squeeze out the highest income possible, we suggest going with this setting. It will still favor revenue at the cost of some user experience, but the majority of your audience will still be pretty comfortable reaching the target. Life is about sacrifices and we believe it’s still a win-win!
Balanced
Well, the name says it all. Balanced. Best of both worlds, if you will. We guess, we can keep this explanation short and simple. With this setting, you will perfectly balance your audience’s user experience AND your income although not to that high level than a revenue-oriented approach would allow. Off to the next.
Good User Experience
This setting will favor a smooth user experience for your audience instead of revenue potential. Especially, for an audience you don’t know that well, meaning you don’t know whether you will be able to make them absorb the revenue-oriented approach, this setting might be considered. It will be pretty fair to your audience and feature a nice experience while you are still able to earn significant income, although being less than with other settings. Sounds like a good deal!
Best User Experience
In case you are a particularly nice person, you should consider choosing this option. You will make it your audience very smooth and easy to get to your content at the cost of some revenue potential. Don’t worry, you will still earn money, but you will leave some of it on the table favoring your audience’s experience.
But hey, the world needs more nice people!
For some audiences, a more revenue-oriented approach might work perfectly and lead to a higher RPM. For other audiences, it might be advantageous to select a more user-friendly approach. We suggest you try to figure the perfect setting out by yourself.
Monetization preferences for Fullscript Links
For Fullscript links, the exact same settings can be applied. Keep in mind though, you will set this setting for all your download links on your website or your blog. It is not possible to customize specific links. In order to check out more information regarding our Fullscript API and why it is such an easy way to monetize an entire website at once, read this article.
